I am a runner.
I run to remind myself of a promise I made. I run to keep up with my kids. I run to live strong because you never know what life can bring. I don't run that fast or that far, but I run to make a difference for myself and millions of others. And, that makes me a runner.
My mom may have lost her life to cancer, but she didn’t lose the fight. She passed her strength and optimism on and the fight now belongs to us. She wouldn’t want 5K35 to be so much about death or sorrow or sympathy. No. Just the opposite. It’s about inspiring others, living with purpose and affecting positive social change. I now run a 5K five times a week, stress less, play more and know what my career as a marketer is best intended for.
